The year 2025 is of great significance for SIP, where a vibrant urban landscape was painted through ingenious fusion of culture, sports and international exchange.
Iconic landmarks have been revitalized. At Yangchenghu Peninsula, the Chongyun Lane, a cluster of B&Bs with catering, fitness, retail and entertainment services along with pet-friendly spaces, was opened.
At Jinji Lake, the “Suzhou Eye”, Asia’s largest waterfront Ferris wheel, was opened in March 2025 after renovation, offering stunning views and thrilling experiences. Not far away, the Suzhou Museum of Contemporary Art came into trial operation recently, bringing art into daily life.
The 688 Arts & Fashion Space breaks the traditional commercial pattern and redefines the possibilities of urban commercial spaces through an immersive scene of “park + art + experience”.
A series of signature events held in 2025 have successfully turned short-term buzz into lasting appeal. The seasonal weekend concerts on the right bank of Jinji Lake boosted the surrounding business, and diverse cultural experiences attracted a continuous stream of tourists to SIP.
Sports events like the 2025 WTA 125 Suzhou Open at the newly opened Sungent International Tennis Center, the professionals and amateurs’ football games and the annual dragon boat race on Jinji Lake added to the passion and vitality in SIP and fueled tourism and consumption.
International cultural exchanges added a global flair to the area. Highlights included the activities celebrating the 35th anniversary of China-Singapore diplomatic relations, the Suzhou Jinji Lake China-France Culture and Art Week and 2025 EDC China, which enriched SIP’s cultural landscape and enhanced its reputation globally.
Over the past year, SIP has demonstrated how integrated cultural, sports and tourism development has injected both cultural charm and economic momentum into the area.
