ROOONG COFFEE, a special café founded by SIP Sunflower Children Service Center, came into service in SIP’s Weiting Sub-district on Jan 22, dedicated to helping mentally challenged youths.

With “See Life and See Value” as its core mission, the café combines employment support, daytime care and social interactions to set up a “transition stair” for young people with intellectual disabilities to integrate into society.

The unique name “ROOONG”, featuring three “O”s with different expressions, symbolizes respect for each individual’s uniqueness. The project features a collaborative public welfare model involving government, enterprises and social organizations.

At the opening ceremony, a program supported by the Bosch China Charity Center was launched to offer two-month internships and long-term vocational training for mentally challenged youths.

A service handbook was released, providing guidance and reference for serving mentally challenged people.
